Always interesting around POD

Wednesday and Friday lunchtime always brings a crowd with Off the Grid 5M (5th & Minna). Today we were tipped off on an art installation with public participation along with the food trucks. A few of us stepped out for a long lunch and gave our faces to art!

The art installation is “A nationwide participatory art initiative aimed at creating a portrait of America that includes immigrants and the descendants of immigrants alike,”  by the french street artist JR. JR is well known for his work in various cities across the globe. I know him best from his work on Favelas in Brazil and as the 2011 Ted Prize Winner–check out his ted talks video here.
